Lahore (March 09, 2021): The Punjab government has decided to ban Ansar-ul-Islam. The organization belongs to JUI-F. The Punjab Home Department has sent a summary of the ban to the Cabinet Committee. According to sources, the Punjab government has decided to ban Ansar-ul-Islam, a sub-organization of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami, under which the Punjab Home Department has sent a summary to the Cabinet Committee based on its recommendations.
Ansar-ul-Islam, a subsidiary of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami, will be banned after the approval of the Punjab cabinet. Earlier on January 18, Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed had said during a protest in front of the PDM's Election Commission that if Ansar-ul-Islam students and madrassa children were brought to the protest, the law would come into force.
Similarly, on the occasion of the Independence March, the government had hinted at banning Ansarul Islam.
Now, before the PDM's long march on March 26, the government has once again decided to take tough action against Ansarul Islam. On the other hand, the leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam say that Ansar-ul-Islam, a voluntary organization of Jamiat-e-Islami, is accused of terrorism by the Punjab government. The allegation of terrorism is ridiculous and baseless which is rejected. These good tactics are outdated.
