The US dollar depreciated further by 50 paise in the local currency markets |
KARACHI: The US dollar depreciated by another 50 paise in the local currency markets on Wednesday, hitting Rs 157.20 in the interbank market and Rs 157.30 in the open market.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan, the dollar depreciated by 50 paise against the Pakistani rupee in the interbank market yesterday, reducing the buying price of the dollar from Rs 157.60 to Rs 157.10 and the selling price from Rs 157.70 to Rs 157.20. In the local open currency market, the buying rate of dollar fell by 40 paise from Rs 157.50 to Rs 157.10 and the selling price fell by 50 paise from Rs 157.80 to Rs 157.30.
In other currencies, the euro traded at Rs 188.50 and the selling price remained stable at Rs 190, while the British pound traded lower at Rs 218 from Rs 218.50 and remained at Rs 220.
