Rawalpindi newspaper latest. On November 19, 2020, the United States commended Pakistan's role in easing tensions in the region. In a meeting with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the US Secretary of State discussed the Afghan peace process and bilateral relations. Qamar Javed Bajwa assured to continue cooperation in the Afghan peace process.

According to ISPR, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa was received by US Secretary of State Angela Eagler. Issues of mutual interest and security situation in the region were discussed during the meeting. The Afghan peace process was discussed. Appreciating Pakistan's role in reducing tensions, the US Secretary of State said that Pakistan's role in reducing tensions in the region was significant. The US Secretary of State assured General Qamar Javed Bajwa of continued support for the Afghan peace process.
