Riyadh News Latest, November 24, 2020 Adhan is the food of the soul of the believer. Listening to the call to prayer is also a cause of reward and it removes many sorrows and diseases of the human heart because the call to prayer is a call to Allah. Nowadays, it has become very easy to call to prayer in the Masjid al-Haram. However, in the old days, many muezzins used to call to prayer from seven minarets at the same time. Every Muslim would like to know how the call to prayer was given in the old days.

According to Urdu News, King Abdul Aziz Academy has released the oldest document of Adhan in Masjid-ul-Haram, Mecca. It is more than 138 years old. This call to prayer was recorded in Haram Sharif in 1305 according to 1302 AD, the credit for which goes to the Dutch tourist and Islamic scholar Greston Hannob Hargroni.

This audio record is preserved at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands.

Hanoub wrote a book called Mecca in the late 19th century. The Dutch tourist recorded the recitation and adhan of Surah Al-Dhuha during prayers at the Holy Haram in Mecca during the year mentioned in his book. He also wrote his own observations and impressions of Mecca and Jeddah in his book.

It seems that the adhan that is preserved in the audio is in their voice. At that time, 7 muezzins used to give azan from seven minarets at the same time. Recording the call to prayer in such a world was a bit of a difficult task. However, the audio record of the call to prayer preserved by a Dutch tourist has a clear sound, which makes it seem that he is not recording the call to prayer in the Haram Sharif Would have given the call to prayer especially for the scholar.
