Sharjah News Latest, 24 November 2020 Sharjah Police has started crackdown against expired driving license holders, who were found driving without renewing their licenses. Similarly, vehicles and trucks with expired registration are being fined 400 dirhams and vehicles with expiration of more than three months are being confiscated.

According to the police, this is being done under the crackdown (Renew your vehicle's registration) campaign. Prior to this campaign, an awareness campaign was launched to renew the registration of vehicles and licenses, which is now in violation. Crackdown is being carried out against those involved. Lt. Col. Omar bin Ghanem, director of the Sharjah Traffic Patrol, said many people were still driving their vehicles after their registrations had expired and were not renewing them.


Due to which such vehicles are being confiscated and those vehicles whose registration has expired three months have been confiscated. The crackdown is aimed at protecting the lives of drivers and passengers as vehicles with expired registration are not checked for defects due to lack of latest checks, which increases the chances of a serious accident. Sharjah Police conducts detailed checks on vehicle renewals. Free reflective stickers were provided to truck drivers during the awareness campaign. Car owners should immediately renew their registration to avoid fines of four hundred dirhams.
