| After Bilawal's statement, the important meeting of the PDM, the internal story |
ISLAMABAD: The internal story of the meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of opposition parties formed for the purpose of the anti-government movement, has come to light on November 9, 2020. Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's statement was fully supported by Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai, but his position was opposed by former President Asif Ali Zardari, who said it was necessary for the success of the anti-government movement. If their goal is clear, it would be better to refrain from opening new fronts, because if more than one front is opened together, there is a fear that this movement will not yield any positive results.
According to media sources, in a meeting chaired by PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the opposition alliance decided that if further talks were held with the Establishment, it would be done only from the PDM platform. But Shah Awais Noorani opposed any kind of talks with the government. Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi represented PML-N in the meeting. On this occasion, he said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement has former Prime Minister Nawaz at the moment. There is no other way but to accept Sharif's statement, so the movement has to move forward under the same statement, Awami National Party leader and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti advised PDM leaders to change their tone. Apart from this, past speeches made by Prime Minister Imran Khan against the Establishment should also be shown in opposition meetings.
